Low Income Group (LIG):
Annual household income between ₹3 lakh and ₹6 lakh.

Middle Income Group (MIG-I):

The applicant should not own a pucca house in their name or in the name of any family member in any part of India.
The carpet area of the house should not exceed 160 sq. meters.
Middle Income Group (MIG-II):
Annual household income between ₹12 lakh and ₹18 lakh.
Same property ownership condition applies as MIG-I.
The carpet area of the house should not exceed 200 sq. meters.
Eligibility Criteria for PMAY-G
PMAY-G focuses on rural areas and has slightly different eligibility conditions:
Homeless and Those Living in Kutcha Houses:
Priority is given to those without any housing or living in zero, one, or two-room kutcha houses.
Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) 2011 Data:
Beneficiaries are selected based on SECC 2011 data, which includes parameters like households with no adult member aged between 16 and 59, households without a literate adult above 25 years, etc.
Other Criteria:
Households without land and dependent on alms for a livelihood.
Households with differently-abled members and no able-bodied adult member.
Households with no adult male member aged between 16 and 59.
Common Criteria Across PMAY
Beneficiary Family Definition: The beneficiary family will consist of husband, wife, unmarried sons, and/or unmarried daughters.
House Ownership: The applicant or any of the family members should not own a pucca house in any part of India.
Aadhaar Card: Possession of a valid Aadhaar card is mandatory for applying under PMAY.
Women Ownership: For EWS and LIG categories, ownership of the house in the name of the female head of the household is preferred. In the absence of a female head, it should be in the name of the male head.
